About Our School
Glyndon Christian School (GCS) is a privately-owned Christian preschool and upcoming elementary school situated in Glyndon, Maryland. Originally founded in 1971 as Glyndon United Methodist School, we have recently rebranded ourselves as Glyndon Christian School to signify our transition into a preschool and elementary school.
In 2023 we added kindergarten, followed by first grade in 2024. Going forward, we plan to expand incrementally, incorporating one additional grade per year, aiming to complete the expansion up to the fifth grade by the fall of 2028.
Mission. Vision. Values.
Mission: Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where our students can flourish academically, spiritually and socially. We are committed to the personal growth and full potential of our students, both within and beyond the classroom. We do this by prioritizing a rigorous curriculum, intimate class sizes, high morals and Christian values. Additionally, we place great emphasis on close-knit relationships and open communication between our staff, students, parents and church.
Vision: As we look to the future, our vision is to build a thriving and nurturing elementary school community. We will provide our students with the education, values and Christian faith they need to thrive in elementary school and beyond.
Values: Our school community embraces core values that serve as the foundation of everything we do, both inside and outside the classroom. We strive to instill these values in our students and help them comprehend their significance. Our school community works together to provide opportunities for students to pause, reflect, and evaluate the character they are developing. We selected the following core values to capture who we are:

-
Integrity - We strive to teach the importance of honesty and help our students act with integrity by choosing to do the right things at all times.
-
Grace - As a foundation of the Christian faith, we expect our students to display grace towards themselves and others, prioritizing kindness, respect and compassion throughout their interactions.
-
Perseverance - We believe perseverance is a cornerstone of success. By teaching our children to persevere, they learn valuable lessons in hard work, critical thinking, and commitment.
